CCE News
The international photovoltaic company CCE, headquartered in Austria, marks a milestone in its business development in Romania with the final building permit for the Horia power plant. As the first of a total of eight projects, the 40 MW solar power plant in the west of the country is now being realized.
Vienna/Bucharest. 03 November 2022. The 40-megawatt PV power plant will be built in the Arad region by the end of 2024. In the future, around 75,000 high-performance photovoltaic modules will produce green electricity for almost 17,000 households. The project is being implemented together with the international group of companies FRAPAG and the Banat Agri Group from Romania. Construction of this ground-mounted photovoltaic system in Horia in northwestern Romania is scheduled to start in 2023. Connection to the Romanian electricity grid is scheduled for the end of 2024.
Horia marks the start of the expansion of the CCE Romania Pipeline In total, CCE currently has project rights in Romania with a nominal capacity of 680 MW. Eight plants are in various stages of project development, with all projects scheduled to be ready for construction by the end of 2023. Martin Dürnberger and Jörg Menyesch, Managing Partners of CCE Holding: "Our team in Romania is doing a fantastic job. The fact that such a large number of projects could be developed in such a short time speaks for the quality of the CCE team, of which we are very proud!".

CCE's full-scale Romanian pipeline will produce electricity for more than 290,000 households.
CCE office opens in Bucharest At the beginning of August, CCE opened its office in Bucharest, where five employees are currently already working on further development in Romania. CCE Managing Director for Romania Johannes Srajer: "We find the best conditions for the expansion of renewable energies in Romania, so opening our own branch was the logical step." Romania aims to increase its share of renewable energy by 7 GW to 30.7% by 2030. "Romania is very committed to the expansion of renewable energies and its efforts are well above the European average. A very good grid structure and the will to accelerate the transformation towards green electricity thus make Romania an ideal market for us. We are pleased to be able to accompany this process!" Srajer concludes.
Vienna/Jesi, August 09 2022. Photovoltaic expert CCEN from Jesi, Italy, is still dynamically expanding its business activity in Italy. The group’s core business is developing PV-plants all around Italy and preparing their building permits.
CCEN is a successful joint venture off Austrian CCE an Enernovum from Cologne/Germany.
Kickoff for building a 41 MWp PV-Plant in Montalto di Castro
As a developer and project manager CCEN got a PV-Plant with 41 MWp in Montalto di Castro off the ground. It will cover the electric need of more than 20.000 households. Furthermore CCEN signed a contract with COMAL SpA, a specialist for building large scaled open-space PV-plants. The Plant Montalto di Castro in the region Viterbo is owned by the CCE Holding and the first asset built in this constellation.
Further permits around Rome
After a short period of prearrangement, CCEN was also given the building permit for the Agro-PV-plant Bomarzo with a capacity of 43,5 MWp.
Agro-PV makes it possible to use land in two kinds: for agriculture an gaining electric energy. Bomarzo will combine photovoltaics with sheep farming.
Within few weeks CCEN also completed to more building permits for PV-Plant Ardea (5MWp) and Santa Lucia (13,9 MWp).
Sandro Esposito, General Manager CCEN Italy: “Developing four plants until ready-to-build in a very short time is a big effort for us. Espacially in the region Lazio in the north of Rome is more and more becoming a strong hotspot for renewable energy. The latest four plants will save 63.000 tons of CO2 per year and cover the electric need for an additional 55.000 households. We are happy to be part of a worldwide energy transition!
