Christkindl elementary school starts new school year with environmentally friendly electricity

Just in time for the beginning of the summer vacations, the municipality of Garsten had a photovoltaic system installed on the roofs of the Christkindl elementary school by the photovoltaic specialist CCE – Clean Capital Energy. From the new school year forward, the sustainably generated electricity will be used in its entirety for day-to-day operations.

The cooperation between the municipality of Garsten and the local photovoltaic company CCE already started in 2015. At the beginning, the internationally operating photovoltaic specialist equipped the outdoor swimming pool and the municipal office in Garsten with PV systems. Now, in summer 2021, the elementary school Christkindl will be equipped with a 33.2 kWp system, which will provide green electricity for the school’s operation.

Enthusiasm even among the smallest fellow citizens

In order not to disrupt school activities and not to expose the elementary school children to any safety risk, the installation of the system was deliberately started during the school-free period in the summer vacations. The installation of the total of 80 modules was always followed with curiosity by the children of the nearby preschool. The responsible project manager of CCE, Andrea Reindl, gladly took the time to answer the many questions of the young citizens on the subject of photovoltaics.

Garsten – a municipality with a green mind

“As an environmentally conscious municipality, we have already been part of the EU project “Climate and Energy Model Region” for a few years. Within the framework of this project, the municipal council is always committed to sustainable forms of energy. After the installations that have already been completed, it is only natural that the municipality of Garsten should continue to use a resource-saving alternative such as photovoltaic systems for its publicly accessible buildings,” affirms Harald Rosensteiner, head of the Garsten municipal office. Robert Bogner, Managing Director of CCE Austria, is also pleased about the excellent cooperation with the municipality: “At CCE we realize PV projects around the globe. The fact that this absolutely important and sustainable form of energy generation is also appreciated at our company location is particularly pleasing to us and strengthens us in our actions.” The next project of the photovoltaic expert and the market community is already in the starting blocks. The installation of a PV system on the roofs of the event hall in Garsten is scheduled to begin soon.
